About this project
The original balustrade specified by the Architect, and supplied by us was
Ashendene's Glass Guard Structural Balustrade. Unfortunately the local hooligans
got to work and started to smash the glass, which meant a re-think.
After consultation with Ware Town
Council and East Herts Planning Dept, we suggested the replacement stainless
steel balustrade. This provided smooth, round lines, and was vandal proof yet
maintained a very good view of the adjacent River Lea through it.
The balustrade
was designed to incorporate the existing support structure to minimise any
disruption to visitors and users of Fletchers Lea during its installation. It
was completed on time and has received high praise from the client and visitors
alike.
Our flexibility and experience in architectural metalwork solutions, allowed us to assist and advise the client in overcoming the problem of needing
something that was vandal proof but was still functional and looked good.
